Canada has a unique opportunity in emerging European medical cannabis markets. However, Europe is a complex patchwork of challenges and opportunities that only the most astute will be able to successfully capitalise on. 

January 1st was a momentous day for the cannabis industry and drug policy reform globally. A week ago, when the clock struck midnight, California began legal sales of cannabis for adult use.

Despite cannabis being the most used illicit drug in the UK, little is known about the true scale of the UK cannabis market.

On October 24th 2017, Hanway Associates and Tantalus Labs submitted a document to British Columbia's Provincial Cannabis Secretariat.

The clock is ticking. Canadian provinces have less than a year in which to decide how, where and by whom cannabis will be sold.

Canada is set to legislate for sale of cannabis for responsible adult use before July 2018. The countdown starts now.
