Canadian Cannabis Countdown

On April 12, 2017, the Trudeau government introduced Bill C-45 (The Cannabis Act), setting Canada up to become the first country in the G7 to legalise cannabis for recreational use.

"The legislation will be reviewed in Parliamentary committees, where alterations could be made," the wire service says. "But it is ultimately all but guaranteed to pass, as the Liberals have a majority in the House of Commons."

The contents of the Cannabis Act, which is expected to come into force in July 2018, largely reflected the recommendations of the taskforce report from last November.

All eyes are on Canada, especially the UK, as there have been calls to follow a similar model.

Now you can count down the days until July 2018 over on CanadianCannabisCountdown.com.
