Hanway Associates sign strategic partnership with leading PR firm Pagefield

Hanway Associates and Pagefield sign a strategic partnership to support businesses in the emerging European cannabis sector

Pagefield, the independent PR and public affairs consultancy, and Hanway Associates, Europe’s leading advisory firm specialising in strategy, research, and M&A for the cannabis sector, have signed a strategic partnership to create a full-service consultancy offer for businesses looking to operate in this emerging, heavily-regulated sector.

The partnership will offer clients operating in these sectors a full range of services, from traditional PR, public affairs and regulatory engagement, right through to business consultancy and M&A support. To date, the partnership has worked with leading cannabis businesses Grow Group and Sana Life Science. Pagefield will also be providing PR support for this summer’s Cannabis Europa conference.

Pagefield have also supported Hanway Associates’ venture arm, The Hanway Company with their Clerkenwell Health, who this summer will open the UK’s first commercial facility for psychedelic drug trials.

In addition, Pagefield and Hanway will collaborate on thought leader projects, driving the conversation in the cannabis and psychedelic sectors. In April, Hanway and Pagefield collaborated on an in-depth study of the regulatory attitudes towards recreational cannabis across Europe and the US, revealing that more than half of Europeans support legalisation.

Oliver Foster, CEO of Pagefield, said: “The cannabis sector is one we have been tracking for a while and we see huge opportunity within it, not just for Pagefield but also for UK PLC. While the high-profile campaigns to secure medicines for children like Billy Caldwell cut through into the national consciousness in the last couple of years, in the background the sector has been growing exponentially with the UK becoming the cannabis funding capital of Europe.

“We have always been an agency that looks to partner with businesses at the top of their field that we believe can improve our offer to clients, and we are delighted to sign this agreement with Hanway. Alastair and his team operate at the very heart of these industries and their knowledge and expertise will be hugely beneficial to our clients.

Alastair Moore, Founder of Hanway Associates, said: “The cannabis sector lives or dies on politics. It’s about winning the hearts and minds of the public while making strong arguments to policymakers for the right regulations, all with the right coalition of supporters.

Partnering with Pagefield was an easy decision as they understand the subtleties of politics, the restrictions on heavily regulated industries, and the massive potential of these new ventures to impact the lives of consumers and patients. We’re extremely excited to continue working with Oliver and his team, and shaping these exciting new entrepreneurial spaces.”
